Anyone out there have any "must do" restaurants (either TS or CS) that are not typical or usually deemed less popular by the masses? Just curious because I'm always seeing poor reviews for places I think are awesome. I always chalk it up to me not being picky, but curious for others' preferences

The Sleepy Hollow counter service located to the right of the entrance to Liberty Square is a must for us - the ice cream sandwiches and the Nutella & fruit waffles are delicious! They have also offered other non-dessert items as well so it can function as a lunch/snack location to tide you over till your real meal.

It is my dream to one day pilot the monorails around the Seven Seas Lagoon....where's my star!!!

OMG! Those Nutella and fruit waffles are to die for.

Another place I like at MK is Pinocchio's Village Haus. Yummy flatbreads!

Some of the table services that I love that never seem to be on the "must do" list for the masses are Captain's Grille, Teppan Edo and Chefs de France.

I agree w/ Sleepy Hollow - I love getting the funnel cake for a snack.

I agree with the above....we had a really good breakfast and dinner at Captain's Grille.

I am a fan for Biergarten and Trail's End! Those both make my list almost every time.

I would say Columbia harbor House, Teppan Edo and Boatwrights. TE and Boat is easy to get an ADR for even day of most of the time but are good eats! Also, if you have little ones, hollywood and vine is one of the easier character meals to get into. One year DH and I got to HS early and didn't realize there was no actual counter service breakfast, walked up to hollywood and vine and got right in. Smile

For me, it's Tonys. It's more because of nostalgia than anything else. It was the only place we could get into once when I was a kid and I remember the waitress taking us to the back and showing us the lady and the tramp window scene. We come back every time now and always have great service, and the restaurant is cute and in a great location for parades and such. Food is average but always brings back fond memories

EPCOT
I love Yakitori [spelled?] House in Japan.
And the CS in China. Can't remember the name.
The Land-Season's Grill. Quite a variety!

AK
We LOVE Pizzafaria. And think their robust sauce is awesome!

MK
Pecos Bill. Best fixings bar around!

DHS
I honestly haven't been here in awhile. I used to love the ABC Commissary.

Tokyo Dining is the first restaurant that comes to mind. Many people are reluctant to try it because of the focus on sushi, but they have a variety of food choices. And the service is usually excellent.

We really liked the table service restaurant at Saratoga Springs. The name escapes me, but it was really good. I am wanting to say it is called the "Turf Club", but IDK. It was one we had not heard much about. Definitely worth the trip there!

I thought so too.....I was surprised how good they were

I too like the Columbia Harbor House. They have a sandwich there with hummus that is very good...and I don't think they serve it anywhere else in the park.

Teppan Edo is also a favorite...A little over priced but the food is good.

We really like Hollywood & Vine. We used to go all of the time but the kids just aren't into buffets anymore. I always thought the food was good and they offered a variety of dishes that others restaurants did not.

It's funny about the popularity of places. We had been going to the Plaza Restaurant for years, when most people had never heard of it. Now there is always a line there to get in.

Look to the resorts. A lot of the resort dining is better than what you get at the parks (which can be pretty good, don't get me wrong) and it gets easily overlooked (with few exceptions, like 'Ohana) in favor of what's in the parks, both for quick service and table service. And most parks have resorts nearby, so it's easy to leave for a nice break and go back. And the bonus is that it's always fun to explore the resorts before or after eating.

But in general, I find it easier to get in to certain places over others. Tokyo Dining (vs far more popular Teppan Edo), Nine Dragons, Tutto Gusto (the wine bar section of Tutto Italia), Morocco's restaurants, Grand Floridian Cafe, Captain's Grille, and some of the Signature Dining venues are often fairly easy to book at short notice or on the spot.

I am a fan of the Turf Club at SSR, the Grand Floridian Cafe for breakfast (lobster eggs benedict :tasty: ), and Chefs de France for less 'popular' table service restaurants.
