Hey all!!
I am planing on a quick trip after Thanksgiving, right after Thanksgiving and I expect it to be quite busy. I have our tix ordered with the Maxpass but I realized that Smugglers Run does not yet offer Fastpasses.
So my question is should I try this first after rope drop or does it thin out in the afternoon? If I do go right after rope drop do I need to enter through Critter Country or are all entrances open after rope drop?

We were just there last week. We didn't make it back to GE for rope drop. I watched the wait times fairly regularly and as expected, shortly after rope drop the wait times went up. I would say that they tend to dip a bit mid morning and then spike again in the afternoon, with some drops here and there. Can't tell you about the entrances, there are three of them, so I can't think of why they wouldn't all be open.
Maxpass is definitely the way to go, we used it at both DLR and DCA.
Sadly, I was a bit underwhelmed and disappointed with Galaxy's Edge.
