From Dad's Guide to WDW
BREAKING: It is being reported by Imagineers that Cars Land will be coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World.
Permits and blueprints are supposedly finished-this projects construction is most likely going to begin in the "Backlot" area of the park this fall

I'm in the "please Disney - build SOMETHING" crowd. I don't even think I care what it is right now, but there is so much that could be done, so much that needs to be done, just get started on SOMETHING already!

Agree.

Furthermore, I really hope they don't just duplicate it at WDW, although it would be built a lot faster and cheaper if they do, which is probably what they will do. I wish Disney would stop copying attractions across their different properties. It is a lot like how the merchandise for awhile was all "Disney Parks". Only now are they starting to actually bring back attraction/location specific merchandise because they realize that the people want stuff that is UNIQUE.

On the other hand, Carsland completely revitalized DCA and brought with it massive attendance increases, so for that, it will be good for DHS. However, if they don't add a whole lot more, all you will have are a ton of frustrated people who can't ever ride Radiator Springs Racers because it is impossible to get a FP and the standby line is 3-4 hours long. That happened in DCA for the first year and it was kind of a mess.

I won't mind this too much IF they also announce some major additions either Star Wars or Pixar related at that park, to open concurrently with the new Carsland area.

I for one am excited. With all the princess stuff we need an area that sparks little boys interest and the cars movies do hold their interest. At that age they are not ready for Star Wars so I am all for this addition. Please Disney build & build soon.

I don't know about that. I have a 3 year old niece who is OBSESSED with Star Wars. Disney Channel airs Lego Star Wars cartoons and that is how she got into it. She loves Cars as well, but it is all about SW these days.

I'm really hoping for something Cars themed. At this point anything NEW at Studios would be welcomed.

Each child is different but I do know from watching mine & then his 3 yr old half brother that there is a massive difference in comprehension level bw 2 & 3. And girls are so much more advanced than boys (his cousin is 3 months younger than DS & she is leaps & bounds above everyone). I am guessing that Star Wars will show up here but probably not til closer to 4 or 5 depending. But thanks for sharing.

Sounds good, but can't they just re-due the speedway in MK and make that Cars? It wouldn’t take as long to do either, a couple changes to the cars, and some signs and BAM you could have Radiator Springs. They need thrill ride in DHS. With all that space back there they could make something really big. :mickey:

Been there, done that and going back!!! See ya real soon !!!

If they do the same kind of ride that they have in DCA, it WILL be a thrill ride. Think of Test Track, but there are two tracks, and they're in a race. That would be a lot of fun.

Is this actually being reported by Disney Imagineers or is this just a clever title by the owner of the Dad's Guide to WDW website to drive traffic to his site? I mean this rumor has been going around as long as Carsland has existed at DCA, and I'd think if Disney Imagineers are actually announcing this that Disney would have some sort of press release.

I would seriously love Cars land at the studios! It would even be worth a special trip. We spent a good deal of our day then when visiting California Adventure last year. Even waited over two hours to ride the racers which is by far a record for us on - willing to wait - times. And it was worth it!

I'm was just hoping for something different. Disney has so many characters and stories that they could build something new themed.
Please if they do carsland, make it different from CA to make it fresh.

Ah so Cars Land in DHS is being rehashed again... This was rumored back in 2012, and broken online by someone involved in the project... But, he clammed up quickly due to NDA's... However, others have went along with him regarding Cars Land in DHS... The rumor was it would contain Flo's, a gift shop, and a Cars attraction, but NOT Radiator Springs Racers... The attraction rumored was a dark ride, omnimover, indoors... No portion outdoors...

No idea if this Dad's Panel has correct info... No one is talking... We'll soon see if permits are filed...

Oh and don't hold your breath for Star Wars any time before 2020/2021... Safe bet is Pixar Place being expanded first...

It is still a rumor until Disney officially announces it. And, the Dad's Guide, or whatever it is, has a terrible track record with reliability.
