A tourist lost two fingers on POTC at WDW Thursday. No word how.... yet.
And here i thought they were props.
Pimpin aint dead.... its just renamed.... Frozen.
I heard about this this morning. Pretty sure he had to have had his hands out of the boat at the "drop"...Imagine being stuck on the ride because someone in the cart in front of you is screaming bloody murder because his finger tips are gone...
There is a reason why you need to keep your hands in the cart all time PorFavor

But I don't want to go among mad people!
Like you said, he had to of had his hand outside the boat during the drop. What's infuriating is I bet this guy will sue, and Disney being Disney will settle to keep it out of the courts and this moron will walk away with a nice load of cash even though he was at fault.
yeah, I bet you're right

He must have gotten a discount. Last time I went, it cost me an arm and a leg.

People amaze me sometimes. I don't understand what the fetish is with people needing to touch the water on POTC.
Spoiler alert; it feels like water!

I did have one thought about this incident. Last September when DW and I rode PotC several times, we felt the the boats were being loaded to the absolute limit. I can not help but wonder if the gentleman was almost forced to place his hand outside of the boat due to space concerns.
Thanks

He could have bent his elbow to avoid hanging his hand outside the boat.
I've actually witnessed people stick their hands outside the boats in Splash Mountain in broad daylight! And what's even dumber is that this guy thought it would be a good idea to stick his fingers in the water when you can barely see anything! People's stupidity and idiocy never cease to amaze me.

According to Reedy Creek fire spokesman Bo Jones, who was quoted by News 13, "the man was sitting in the ride vehicle and was holding onto part of the outside of the boat, when something struck his fingers."

Please keep hands and feet inside the boat at all times.
In the boat, means, IN the boat. Some people just don't listen.
