This is our feeling. We can have a great time at Disney World without ever going into a park.

I think the thing that was being tested is guest feedback. Why else was there such a suit presence? Statistics won't provide input on the depth of guest feelings.

Yes, Disney failed the guests, again... That is the biggest issue with this test... And it seems 90% of us agree...
What? Outrage? I don't know. Yes there are some things that I may not care for, I may even voice my opinion to to Disney.
But cries of outrage? Over a themepark?
When I think of outrage, I think of my mom who has cancer and is having a mastectomy tomorrow. I think of my father who has long cancer and less than a year to live. I think of my father in law who has cancer and less than a year to live as well.
Are people truly this upset over Disney that it's interfering with their very lives?

Everyone vacations differently. AND not everyone lives in Disney's backyard. I think we need to remember most people don't go to Disney World as much as a lot of us do.

So are you done with Disney for good?
As long as FP+ is there, we are done. I have no desire to do the same thing on vacation that i do at work,,,schedule, plan, plan schedule, plan...and pay through the nose to do it.
Just got back from a vacay in colorado and had a fantastic time with mimimal planning.

It is not based on price alone. It is also based on the fact that you would be dealing with FP+ reservations from 60 days ago and ADRs from 180 days ago before you even entered the gate. I don't think that happens at any of the others, does it?

So we should be guilted into capitulating to your opinion?

Probably the same would apply to other attractions in the area. Legoland may be less, but it also has a whole lot less to offer than MK as well.

No, the other parks don't have FP+ style reservations that I know of. But, don't they have more expensive premium packages or an extra fee for front of the line privileges? Why is that not predatory, but Disney is? Genuine questions, not just trying to argue. I haven't been to the other parks. But, when I see statements like that, then compare prices, I just don't see the justification for the accusation. It makes me wonder if sometimes people are so personally angry at Disney that they hold the other parks in higher standards than really exist. Again, haven't been to those other parks myself. It's just a thought.

It's always a good thing to put everything in perspective. Sending good thoughts out to your family members.....
When we went on our trip this year, I was very annoyed that I had to choose 3 atttractions a day to fast pass, 60 days in advance.
When I got there & was ushered onto those attractions within little to no line? I wasn't quite as annoyed.
I wonder what the percentage of on-site guests to off-site guests are? And will this FP+ eventually mean that its an extra perk of staying on-site for all tiers of resorts? I am kind of ok with this.
I've been saying - when I go to Universal again (haven't been there since 2000) - I'm staying on their propery to get the equivalent "fast pass" there. It stinks to have to pay for that - but when standing on line is painful (sciatica) and I can afford it - I'm doing it.
And back to the fast pass - they have to give you more than 3 in advance - I think 5 would be better......

I understand that your family's health is much more important than any theme park vacation..
but how would you feel if you knew that those staying concierge level would only have to let their concierge know that they needed a fast pass for Toy Story Mania and they would be given one.
I feel that is the direction all of this is going.
The more you can afford to spend, the more benefits you will receive as a WDW guest.

I understand the thought process. I can't lie though, in my opinion that question is still silly in comparison with real life issues.
The running of theme park [no matter how much I love it] doesn't consume me to that point where I'm so angered/outraged.
I don't expect others to feel that way, I just don't *get* it [if that makes sense].
Honestly, the concept of the "the more you can afford to spend, the more benefits you get" is kind of the way of our 'American Life'.
The more you have, the more you can do. It's just a fact of life [NOT that I agree, you don't want to get me started that, I can assure you my heart bleeds if you know what I mean ;)]
But as an example, 'the more you can afford...' If I had 'more', I could 'afford' to have flown overseas to be with my mother today for her surgery and recovery.
But we [my family and I] are not in a position to drop over $1000 on a plane ticket alone. Then the money needed for the stay there. Not to mention the extra help needed back here while my husband stays behind with our children and works.
Probably a crazy example, sadly though it's true. The more you have, the more you can do.
While I agree there are some things about these changes I'm not happy about, I can roll with it.
I don't *have* to have fast passes. At one time there were no such thing. Our society is so 'go, go, go' that things such as a 'fast pass' has become the norm. No one wants to wait or be inconvenienced anymore. But that's not always reality.

Yes, you put it into words better than I. I understand that though and kind of agree.
Not going to lie, I'd probably pay as well if I could afford it for the extra fast pass perk.

Wow, they keep digging a deeper hole for themselves. Now for locals or people staying off site you won't be able to ride a lot of the more popular rides because fast passes are gone before the day of the visit and you can't stand in line either.....But these same people are paying the same price for their tickets as everyone else?????
This started out as a mess and with each step it has gotten worse. It was a nightmare when we were there last Oct and I really have no desire to go back, especially with this new "trial".
They basically have pushed many people away from visiting again. We have been going to Disney almost every year ( some years twice)since 1992. We had been spending a week at our timeshare and a week on property at a deluxe until we discovered Universal hotels about 5 years ago. I am a big shopper on vacation and we always have a table service everyday.
I guess my point is that when we are on vacation we don't worry about spending. We have spent thousands and thousands of dollars there since 1992 and I am honestly so frustrated with their over the top controlling methods that they have sucked out all of the fun of a Disney vacation. That is sad. :(
