Another thread about line etiquette made me recall a recent unfortunate experience on HM. I am so embarrassed by what happened that I almost didn't post this. My snafu didn't happen in the queue, but in the interior queue after you are herded out of the stretching room. I hate this area always, but on this particular time we were lumped in with a very large school group that were aggressively trying to stay together. I was holding hands with my DD, as was my DH. A very large man was shoving me with his body, and I dropped DD's hand, knowing she would be okay with DH. I was honestly afraid she would get trampled if I tried to keep us all together. We were instantly separated. At one point, I was actually being shoved backwards. I had given up all hope of riding with my family until I spotted them next to me, on the other side of the velvet rope. I felt a little silly, but I ducked under the rope to join them. I figured it was not a big deal because I was riding in the same Doom Buggy with them, and everyone in the group gets to ride. Well, to some people in that school group, it was a big deal- a very big deal. A woman (a chaperone, btw) yelled "real classy" at me. I said " oh, I was separated from my family". The other woman with her yelled "trash"! And there group commenced talking about this "horrible" incident. I sat with tears streaming down my face the entire ride. I was mortified! Does anyone else not like the way HM is loaded? I wish it could be like other queues, with organized roped lines. Honestly, this experience wrecked one of my very favorite rides. If you've made it this far, I thank you and apologize for very long post!
I agree if you want to be with your family its impossible with the way they cattle you in to the row... and you did nothing wrong i would have done the same. those women were probably overwhelmed with having to watch over all those screaming kids.

Thank you. I didn't look at it that way. I can't imagine chaperoning at WDW. I'm sure it would not bring out the best in me. It's hard enough to keep an eye on my 3! :blush:
The other people sound very rude! It's absolutely uncalled for! When you said that you were rejoining your family they should have apologized!
The interior line is terrible! Especially if there is a backup of one or two stretching rooms. There must be a better way!

Your the better person for keeping your cool. Especially hearing the lady say "trash". Me, I would have Macho Man Randy Savage suplexed over the velvet rope right into her.
I had a guy keep trying to push through with one of those Cadillac size strollers they allow in. After the fifth ram to my heel, I ended it real quick.
She was jealous of you because she was stuck as a chaperone with a bunch of brats.

That que is the worst. I always do my best to just hug the wall on the left as soon as they herd us thru the doors!
I've had someone actually elbow me, chest height, in that line just to get one space ahead of me... But I didn't yell at them and call them names. At least not loud enough for them to hear it! :-)
One thing I've noticed... There are a lot of mean unhappy people at the happiest place on earth! How sad for them
At least you got to ride with your family. And you handled it pretty classy too !

If I were in a similar situation, I probably would not have been able to reserve myself the way you did, so good job and yes that area is ridiculous. They need to figure out better line management in the interior queue now or else someone is either going to get hurt, separated from their family, or an argument is going to break out.
Oh geesh! I hate the interior queue at HM, and even though we try to hang back leaving the stretching room, by the time we're entering the line, a new stretching room is rushing towards us.
You were much calmer than I would have been, and I'm sorry the other woman was having such a stressful day (with all of those kids to watch, I think I understand) and that she chose to take some of it out on you.

I hate going on that ride for that reason!!!! :thedolls: there is no reason we have to be shoved in like that, they really need to change the way they do that.
As far as you going under the ropes. I know I wouldn't have a problem with it. I would have said to the two women.. "EXCUSE ME!!!!!! If YOU were keeping a better eye on your group you would know they were rushing in like ANIMALS and pushing people!!!!" besides that MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!!! You have no Idea why I did what I did so keep walking and have a nice day... 
I might have let the Italian side come out and that might not be as nice as I would have said it ….lol But I would also remember where I ‘am and keep it civil…

This is one of the worst ride ques in the park. My DW always hates it when we leave the stretching room. Disney needs to evaluate this area and come up with a better way to handle this. The mass mob is really uncalled for. As far as the other issue, I will have to say that you are a better person than I am. I would not have kept my mouth shut. The :thedolls: would have come out in me and I when it was all over I probably would have been escorted off of the ride.:cool:
