October 3 (Monday)
This is our last full day at Disney World. We are heading to the Magic Kingdom this morning. A bus arrives within a few minutes of our arrival at the bus stop. The Magic Kingdom is open until midnight this evening and it appears many have planned to make this a Magic Kingdom day. Since we arrived early, we are able to go on Pooh with just a 20 minute wait. Tomorrowland Transit Authority is an easy walkon. Tomorrowland Speedway has a reasonable wait. Now, things are heating up. Every ride I am interested in doing is listing at least a 45 minute wait. Okay, let's do Jungle Cruise. By time we walk over there, the wait time is listed as 55 minutes. Normally, I would just walk on by - not sure why I got in that line. While on line, the wait time increased to 80 minutes but now we have already invested so much time in waiting on this line. I think it took us close to 1-1/2 hours to ride the Jungle Cruise - oy!! Thought I was smarter than that. Okay, I've had it with the Magic Kingdom - time to leave.
When we did the Disney Cruise a couple of years ago, we met a couple from Pennsylvania who shared our dining table. Marlene and I have stayed in touch ever since. She was scheduled to arrive at Disney today and we made arrangements to meet up at Disney Springs where they were planning to spend their afternoon. Marlene is supposed to text me when she arrives at her resort. We haven't yet heard from her but decide to head to Disney Springs anyway.
The Saratoga Springs bus is about to leave as we approach but the Old Key West bus is there so we hop on that. Once at Old Key West, we head to the boat ramp (having just missed one boat) and wait about 10 minutes for the next one to come along. We are the only folks on board and have a pleasant ride to Disney Springs. Still no text from Marlene. It's after one and we're hungry so we head to the Boathouse and have lunch on the deck (fish sandwich for me; turkey club for my spouse). As we are finishing up our lunch, Marlene texts to say she is near Sprinkles but they are hungry. We tell them to go eat and we'll catch up with them later.
While waiting, we wander through the new section of Disney Springs. It is nicely done but is pretty much like any other high end shopping mall elsewhere in the US. I still haven't heard back from Marlene so we find a bench between the Boathouse and Jock Lindsey's. It begins to rain so we duck into Jock Lindsey's and order drinks. I text Marlene to let her know this and she replies that they had also eaten at the Boathouse and were now at World of Disney. It's raining so they stay put for a while. Just as we are getting ready to leave Jock Lindsey's to go find them, they text that they are trying to find us. We get together at Jock Lindsey's and have a nice visit!!
We had fastpasses for the Magic Kingdom for this evening but neither one of us feels like going back there tonight. Instead, I cancel the fastpasses and we return home.
Relax, tubby, to bed for our last sleep here this trip.

The standby lines at MK are getting longer and longer but 90 minutes for Jungle Cruise, no thank you.
Glad you had a chance to visit with you friends, always fun!
