After getting 3 hours of sleep the night before after a quick trip out of town to a gospel concert, EpcotDad drove to airport around 4 a.m. My card for getting me into the long term parking lot was eaten by the automated machine. After seeking help, I waited for about 5 minutes as car after car went through the other entry gate. What a start to a vacation I thought. Finally someone came and freed me. Thankfully I have the TSA precheck which allows me to sail through security quickly. So, after I checked my one bag, I got into the terminal in less than 5 minutes.

an uneventful flight to Orlando. Weather was cloudy when we arrived. DME was waiting. After about 5 minutes we were off to DW. Thanks to online check in my room at All Star Sports (my first time there) was ready. I was in touchdown 10 which is right next to food court and bus transportation. It would be a noisy sleeping area I found out later. All Star is safe and clean. But for the adult amenities and for a really enjoyable relaxed stay I would stay at a deluxe resort such as Yacht Club, etc.

I dropped off my carry on bag in my room and took the bus over to Epcot to commence sampling of the food. After a quick visit to the Festival Center I only sampled Puerto Rico, Greece, and Brazil food. The next day I returned to sample Farm Fresh, Hops & Barley, South Korea and Singapore food. lemongrass chicken curry with coconut and jasmine rice gets a thumbs up.

On Wednesday a deluge of rain impacted my visit to MK. I only stayed until around 2 p.m. Then went over to Beach Club to rest for 5 p.m. Cape May dinner reservation.

Even though I had FP+ for all 3 days, I only used one. I basically just went with the flow of how I felt. I tired quickly the first day due to only having 3 hours of sleep so I left Epcot early.

I briefly stopped by HS. The absence of Backlot tour and American idol leaves two big gaps at HS. HS now seems to be a park that you only need half a day to really enjoy. I hope Disney fills the gaps soon.

I didn't make it to AK at all. Time and my endurance were a factor. Since I have an annual pass it wouldn't have cost anything additional to stop by there.

DME left at 8 a.m. Thursday morning for return to airport.

Overall it was a decent getaway. Weather could have been better, but that is how Florida is.
