We are going to WDW for 10 days, so would be buying the 10 day park hopper passes. Is it worthwhile for one of us to have an annual pass, in the hopes that it might get us a much better rate on rooms? I've heard people talk about that, but I'm not sure if it ever really pans out. Same question for Universal, if anyone knows. And would I be correct in assuming that as long as I have an annual pass and I book the rooms, it is okay for the rest of my party NOT to ?
I'm not sure annual pass rates are always better than rates available through other special offers. Additionally, annual pass rates are not always available as only a limited number of rooms are provided under that discount. Magical Journeys would be able to help you figure out the best option for you at the most savings to you.

You would need to post more details about your situation, but the odds are that you will NOT save money buying an AP instead of a 10-day pass.
The AP cost about $340 MORE than a 10-day park hopper!
More information would be needed about your trip or trips before knowing for certain though.

The room only AP rates are generally pretty good, but not enough to offset the cost of buying the AP for one trip. And many of the other benefits are growing worse. The big money saver for us with the AP was the Tables In Wonderland card but it had a huge price hike this year and is no longer worth it unless you make several trips each year.
