Hello,

I had a trip planned for the week of August 24th b/c it is (traditionally) a "low" for crowds and prices, subsequent to my planning, the Star Wars opening was announced for 8/29.

I am wondering if the opening is going to draw large crowds for the week leading up to the opening. I specifically don't want to be in crowds in the parks with peak crowds (last visit was an easter week and i vowed i would never go back during a peak week)...should I cancel and reschedule for another time or can I expect normal/low crowds prior to the 29th and in the other parks on the 29th. Would love any advice or expert opinions out there.

Thanks!

Although I wouldn't want to be there during the opening of a major attraction or "land", I don't think you will have any problems as long as you go to the other parks and avoid HS. I will be down the last week of September and probably won't go into that park unless I hear from others that it's not too bad. Although I am a Star Wars fan, I have no desire to see Galaxy's Edge, at least not now. Enjoy your trip!!!!

We will be there that week, and we're just going with it! I have no idea what the other parks will be like (Disneyland was VERY quiet the week Star Wars opened there), but it might be chaos instead. However, I think DHS will be a zoo, and the others more normal, or even quieter than normal.

The parks have been very busy all year. I would not expect really low crowds the week before StarWars opens. Also, I understand that certain classes of annual passholders will be offered previews before the official opening of StarWars not sure when these dates will be and whether or not the offer will entice those who live outside of Florida to travel here for the pre-opening previews - all very difficult to predict at this point.
