We haven't been to WDW since 2010 and will be coming this September. I understand the "welcome" ceremony (with the train) is not what happens now and that people are let into the park near the castle. Is this true? What time do they start letting people in? Is the opening ceremony now by the castle?

Thanks for any info!!

Melinda

The welcome is now on the stage in front of the castle. People are let into the main street shop area before the welcome. Not sure about the time

MK generally starts letting people in an hour before the official opening. The Main Street shops (and Starbucks) are open, but you'll be held in the hub for the castle opening show until the park officially opens.
