Just curious when schools in different areas start. Schools for us start September 8. Currently have reservations for Aug 22 - 29 but wondering if I should delay it a week, although free dining starts on the 28th so not sure if that will draw a big crowd.
Most schools in Texas start the last week of Aug.
Though with Football, Cheerleader, Dance team and Marching band practice all starting in the first or second week of August many Texas families with 14 - 18 year old children will have taken their vacations in July.

We start 8/24 and I live in West Central Florida. Most Florida schools probably go back around the same time.

Maybe I should stick with the week I have then! I know it will be HOT and crowded but maybe not as crowded as free dining (I have a bounceback so already have free dining).

Believe it or not, schools in our county (mid-Georgia) start on August 3. DW, who is a teacher, has to go back to work on July 27. Summer vacation for her barely lasts 8 weeks.

When our kids were in high school, we would go WDW the last week in August. Still quite hot and humid but not as crowded.
It seemed that the parks were filled with folks from the northeast who didn't start school until after Labor Day.

We went in late August once. The later, the better. Crowds get lighter as the month comes to a close. I think your dates are fine, though it will be HOT. But you know that.:)

Kids start August 31st for us. We are in PA but all the districts in PA have their own starting times from a week before us to after labor day.

SC schools start August 17th (or so).
Most schools in the South East start in Mid August.
