We are giving Sea World a try on May 9th of this year. Picked up Military tickets, and have the all day dining pass. We will be a group of 5:

DH: aged 67
Me: aged 59
DD: aged 22
DD: aged 37 and has MS so will need a wheelchair
DGD: aged 6

the granddaughter has never been to sea world, and its been probably 15 years since I have last been, and then it was to to the one in San Antonio.

Wondering how we should structure our day and there is not a lot of posts from recent visits...

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

We went last December. It was a nice day, but the Sea Lion show was down for a makeover, not sure when it was going to be back up. Missing the mime before the show was the hard part.
The trainers no longer go into the water with the Orcas, so that show has gotten a little lame.
You are also not allowed to pet the dolphins at the feeding area anymore.
The crowd was very sparse, they are taking a big hit do to that Blackfish "documentary".

The Sea Lion show has re-opened, I believe with a new story line. I have not been there since 1999, but message Courtney on facebook. She goes quite often. Also I believe that Courtney's little, Megan, works there.

Whoops, sorry. I saw something on the news the other day that made it sound like it already reopened. Anyway, it will be open by May 9th.

We were there in Sept 2014. Our plan of attack was to see what shows we really wanted to see and plan everything else around them. We enjoyed it. Penguin area was nice.
