Pop Century Adds Value To Disney
Resort Offerings!
The
Disney Company has settled on a name for its new pop culture-themed value
resort now under construction south of the Caribbean Beach Resort: Disney's
Pop Century Resort. The newest addition to Disney's accommodation offerings
will provide 5,760 rooms comparable with Disney's All Star Resorts.

A power-packed lineup headed by Christian music female vocalist of the year
Jaci Velasquez, former female vocalist of the year CeCe Winans and Gospel
rockers the Newsboys (pictured) will perform during the 18th annual Walt
Disney World Night of Joy Sept. 8-9 at the Magic Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom E-Ride Nights Announced
Disney has
officially announced its E-Ride schedule. August 1, 8 (11pm-2am)
August 14, 18, 22, 25 (10pm-1am) and August 29 (9pm-midnight).
E-Ride Nights are an
exclusive "private party" in the Magic Kingdom for a limited number of Walt
Disney World Resort Guests.

Duran Duran Kicks Off World Tour @
WDW
British
pop band Duran Duran, kicked of their US tour in Orlando, Florida by
appearing at Disney-MGM Studio's Rock 'n' Roll Rollercoaster. The band
performed their first show Friday at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney.

Port Orleans and Dixie Landings to Combine in 2001
Effective April 1, 2001 Disney's Dixie landings and Disney's Port Orleans
will combine operations into one resort to be known as Disney's Port Orleans
Resort. The resorts will now become two separate sections, "The Riverside"
(formerly Dixie Landings) and "The French Quarter" (formerly Port Orleans).
In preparation of the transition, Port Orleans Bonfammile's will close on
August 5, leaving Boatwright's at Port Orleans as the only full service
restaurant. Word is that one central check-in desk will serve both resorts
and that this merger will improve their overall operation.
