Hi All! If we were to change resorts mid-stay, will Disney transfer our luggage or is that something we will need to handle?
Thanks in advance -
If you're moving from a Disney resort to another Disney resort, Disney will move your luggage for you. However, you might not get it as early as you might like at your new resort. When we've changed resorts, we've just cabbed over to the new resort, along with our luggage, and put it in storage at the new resort until our room was ready.

I've had them move our luggage. Its worked out fine, as well as Disney bell services tend to work anyway. Our has arrived, and before 5pm.

We have done this on numerous occassions and never had a problem. We schedule for bell services to come pick up all that we want to go to our new room, including groceries requiring refrigeration. We tip them then head to the park for the day. At some point we go to our new resort, after they have texted that our room is ready. We go to our room and call bell services (note, you need to be in your room to have the luggage delivered) and then tip these bell hops as well. It's always been there before 5 and frequently by 2 or 3.
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow!
Thanks, everyone! This will definitely help with the planning!
It depends how you picture your in between day going - we planned a full park day, so we were okay with Disney transferring our stuff. on the other hand, if I wanted to switch resorts and settle in and enjoy the new one right away, I'd take a cab. Where are switching from and to? We did Carribean Beach and Animal Kingdom (really wanted to try that one but could only afford 2 days). A few people warned us off the idea because of the (minor) hassle - packing , unpacking, and checking in - but we were SO glad we did it!! We really enjoyed our little treat :-)
