We are staying at a value resort. We know that they don't have coffee pots in the rooms, so we wanted to bring our own 12 cup pot? Has anyone done this? Would a smaller one be better?

We have brought a kettle and our French Press as well as our Keurig and never had issues. We found that the French Press was better size wise for travelling since it is no where near as large or as heavy as our Keurig.

In the past, we have used a 12 cup coffeemaker but last trip, we brought our Keurig which worked out great. We're planning to do that again although I'm thinking about buying a smaller one (or similar type of machine) just for trips as our large one was a pain to pack. It took an entire carry-on sized suitcase all by itself and like Brian said, it weighed a ton!

We always bring our Keurig, even in a moderate. We prefer it over the pots.

Thanks for all the replies. This will be 2nd time we have ever stayed on-site. Think we are going to buy a cheap coffee maker and not bring it home.

I could have sworn they had coffee pots. I guess I was wrong.

You could have one shipped to the hotel from Amazon. My family traveled a lot this past summer and we had multiple things shipped to our hotel from Amazon. If you have Amazon prime (and we do), even better!
