Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels to Gain New Perks in 2018

The Walt Disney World resort has quietly announced that the Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels will gain access to new amenities effective January 1 and January 10, 2018.

Effective January 1, 2018; Guests staying at the B Resort & Spa; Best Western Lake Buena Vista; DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando; Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace; Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista; Holiday Inn Orlando; and Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista will have access to Extra Magic Hours.

Effective January 10, 2018; Guests staying at the B Resort & Spa; Best Western Lake Buena Vista; DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando; Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace; Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista; Holiday Inn Orlando; and Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista on a Walt Disney Travel Company package will have access to the 60 day booking window for FastPass+ selections.

With adding these hotels to Extra Magic hours and Fastpass + what is the point of paying extra to stay in one of the Disney hotels. Most of these hotels are cheaper. Disney is taking away more perks for staying in one of their hotels

I agree, at this point there really no "perks" left for staying onsite. The wording is interesting to me though. they all get EMH but only those booked through a WDTC package will get FP+ benefits. Disney must be making a chunk of change on this.
