I think the biggest January advice is to avoid the marathon. We were surprised at how much crowds bumped up the days before and after marathon weekend.

Agreed - best to avoid marathon weekend. There could also be a slight bump in crowds the weekend of MLK birthday, too - some folks take advantage of a 3-day weekend.

We've never seen cheer week as a big deal. It just means you might cross paths with some of the teams, but the numbers never seemed to be a problem while we're there.

I think I’ll be there as well! I will, however, be running the marathon. Maybe the Dopey but dear god it’s like $600 so....maybe not. If you’re interested, consider the 5k. I’m an avid runner and there is no race as entertaining as these.

Usually early January, the long weekend that lands 5-10 days after the New Year's weekend, depending when Jan 1st falls. This year is 1/8-1/12.

That is good news..........we picked January 23-27 for our trip hoping for less crowds at that time.........
