Does anyone know what section houses the Pirate Themed rooms. Are they close to the main buildings?

They are located in the farthest away from Old Port Royal - I can't remember the name of the section just now. When we stayed there it was about a 10 minute walk (but we don't have littles or strollers, so that may make a difference for you) to the main pool and OPR. We loved the Pirate themed rooms!

Trinidad south I think. Yes they are far away from everything. There is a bus stop right there and a quiet pool.
Rooms are pretty cool too.

Why do they always put the themed rooms furthest out? Same with the royal rooms at Port Orleans. You'd think since they are more expensive they'd put them closer in the hopes that more people would opt for them. I think some who might be willing to pay for the theme won't because of the inconvenience.

You're going to find this strange, but I remember reading about why they did it a long time ago when they were upgrading those rooms. They did it so that people would want to stay in those far-off areas of those resorts!! I guess it didn't work for everyone.

Actually the Royal rooms were closer to the main building than the preferred location room we had this past November. We were wishing we had gone ahead and done the Royal rooms since they most likely were the same or nearly the same as what we paid for preferred location.

Also the Royal room buildings are Oak Manor and Partierre Place and there are a lot of other buildings that are further away. We stayed at Oak Manor numerous times prior to them changing to Royal rooms and it was only maybe a 5 minute walk across a bridge to the main building.

The Pirate rooms are located in Trinidad South.

Many guests did not like being in the furthest buildings from Old Port Royale so Disney decided to turn those into themed rooms (and the most expensive of the rooms at CB)

They are also the only rooms at CB that still have double beds and not queen beds. This had to do with the pirate ship bed frames.

And just a reminder...there's a LOT of refurbishments/construction going on over there.

As noted above, there is a bus stop and quiet pool located here.

They are located in South Trinidad, which is fairly far from Old Port Royale. You can view that section as your own private oasis, or as being designated in "no man's land." It all depends on your point of view.

When we first arrived in our room, I viewed it as her own private island. It was beautiful, picturesque, and quiet. However, after a 10-day stay, I viewed it differently. For one, it is the last pick up in the morning for the bus route. All too often, buses would be completely filled before they reached our stop and rather then come to our bus stop, they turned right, crossed the bridge, and exited. There was always a bus on standby and one morning the cast member called for that bus for just our stop only. We had been bypassed three or four times already. We essentially had a private, chartered bus to take us to the Magic Kingdom.

Another problem was package pick up. At the end of a long night, I was the one who was left off at Centertown, while my wife went on with the kids to our room. I would pick up our packages, then make the long walk by myself back to our room. My wife, on the other hand, had to navigate the stairs to the second floor with a stroller and a 2-year-old as there was no elevator available in that section.

The rooms are beautiful, but the location can be challenging at times. Take that into account.
