Hi. We are staying at the Pop in Sept. We have stayed at Pop several times and have always enjoyed staying in the rooms overlooking the late and Epcot (I think in the 50's and 60's buildings). This year we added a day to the beginning of our stay and had to book a separate room. We have a preferred room for the first night and told them we would like to keep the preferred room if possible for the remainder of our trip. I am wondering if the preferred rooms are a lot closer to the main building and where they are located in the resort? I am not 100% sure when looking at the map.

You are correct the preferred rooms are closer to the food court and transportation, but you pay more that privilege.
We will be staying at Pop again in Sept ourselves during Labor Day week.

I stayed in one. That was a building straight out the back door of the food court, beyond and around the pool.

The only way they will let you keep that room(if available) would be to pay the preferred price for the rest of your trip. They will expect you to pay for an upgrade. No freebie for preferred rooms
