We will be staying at Pop for one night in a standard room before moving to the Poly. I've heard the resort is quite large. Looking for building/floor recommendations. I've read the 50's section is good. Is it near the parking lot and how far to the food court?

If by near you mean on the Disney property, then yes it is near the parking lot.

Just kidding of course but, the problem with the POP is that the sections are really big. Depending on what part of 50's you are in, you could be close to the food court and bus stops, close to the parking lot, or not really close to anything.

There are parking lots for each building, so you have the potential in being very close to your room. You should be fine !!

My favorite place to stay is in the 50s section at the back of the juke box building. If you get a room a few stories up, you can watch the fireworks off in the distance. I don't find the walk to be too far to the main building and bus stops. If you like swimming, one of the quiet pools is just in front of that building. It is a quieter section. If you don't want to be far from all the "fun" things though, you may want to consider a different room.

I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

I like the 50s section, not far from main building. has a pool. and like said you can see some fireworks from the backside of the building. I will be staying at Pop again on my next trip

Ive stayed in the 50s building, and it was close to parking and dining.

Just stayed in the 70 building this past trip. It was close to dining but since it was close to the lake, not close to parking

Hi - we stayed in April. One bed is standard and the second is a Murphy bed which converts to a table when folded up. We loved it since during the day when the bed was folded up it gave us more space in the room. Great remodel. Have a great trip

POP is my "go to" resort. Why would I want to spend more for a place to sleep, shower, and store my luggage? It's comfortable, and has everything I need for the brief time I'm at the resort. That being said, if you're only spending one night there why worry about it? Even if you're put in a room at the outskirts, it's only a couple minutes walk to the main building (whose food court has some really awesome choices) You're gonna walk miles in the parks, an extra couple of steps shouldn't be a big deal.

I prefer to spend more for a place to sleep, shower, etc. because we are not in the parks all day, every day and we enjoy spending time relaxing at the resorts. I am in good shape and don't mind walking....I have a daughter with a disability and although we don't need a disability room, I prefer to make it easier for her. Thank you for your thoughts though.
