I just called to have this special deal applied to my already active reservations. We are booked at Port Orleans River side. We have 3 ROOMS booked for 1/11/18 TO 1/17/18. The total for the room only was 1607.64 after they applied "SPECAIL OFFER" it only came down to 1504.92 thats like 7%??? Where or what do you have to do to get the 25% discount??? I was told by Disney reservation back in August when I booked to keep a sharp eye and call fast. What is the problem?

My guess is that the actual discount was 10%. I was just looking at the details of the Disney Visa offer that I received, and for moderate resorts its said that CBR and Coronado were 30% off, FW Cabins 20% and POR and POFQ were 10% off.

Some of the Deluxes were 35% off.

This had nothing to do with a Visa discount I was sent 3 different emails and also saw on many other Disney info sites about the 25% off room rates. The CBR (SHOULD BE FREE TO STAY THERE SUCH A MESS) is slightly lower rate per night but not much. My main issue with this is the employee at the Disney travel co. and a few other Disney travel agents all said the same thing book now to lock in room and then watch and get winter discounts when they roll them out.

Actually, the copy reads " Save UP to 25%"

some resorts get 25%, not all.
some dates get 25%, not all.

So 6.5 % is a normal discount for a Moderate resort during the slowest month of the year?
At the very least the very least it should be 10% that would be 160.07

I don't know if this could be it, but I've seen on some of the recently released discounts that only week nights are covered. Is it possible the "special discount" that you received was 10%, applied on weeknights and then rack rate over the weekend, which might bring the discount down around 7%?

I agree though, if a discount doesn't even cover the sales tax, it isn't really much of an incentive. Even the old AAA discount was I think at least 15-20%.

Unfortunately this is a continued sign of Disney pulling back on the discounts.

Unfortunately January is no longer the slowest month of the year, I'm not sure there is any slow time left. The week you are looking at is the end of the marathon and MLK weekend. Last year crowd levels were up from past years even reaching 7 and 8 of 10 on the weekend. Sorry this "special" didn't work out for you.

I am very happy to say that after 2 1/2 hrs on the phone last night with a WDW Travel supervisor, we worked out a great deal. They upgraded my room only reservation at the POR to a Play, Stay and Dine package @ the POR; that could not be beat! I can't say enough good things about the gentleman who helped me with my 3 room reservation. I will say this staying calm and being polite goes along way when booking and looking for a good deal. The savings we received was more then I would have ever imagined!! This has completely resort my faith in Disney magic.
