Our family has never been to WDW in the summer. We are fall, winter and occasionally springtime goers! However, this year we are thinking of going in June, kind of short notice for us, we are planners typically. We are thinking of arriving on 6/14, which puts us out of the room only discount and the only one available is the free QS meal daily, which seems odd and not a big saving but I guess it's something. And we don't typically stay at a value.
Long story short, historically, do they ever offer summer deals? I know they have been offering odd package deals lately. I'm trying to decide if we should book and hope for the best or should we rent DVC points, which is something else we've never done!
A couple of years ago I got a good room discount for the first 2 weeks of August. I'm going in July this year and hoping for the same. Don't hold your breath for any free dining though. Doubt that will happen

last couple yrs its been a room discount in the summer. this new promo w. the free meal w.the stay at a value is new. we looked into it but hubby wont settle for a double bed at the values.

Yes, same here. Can't do the double beds either. Maybe they will do a free table service meal with moderate and deluxe resorts. That would be cool....
