We are currently booked at the POP for our upcoming trip but are considering upgrading our hotel. We have stayed at the WL in the past and loved it, but we know it is under construction. Does anyone know if the construction is terribly disruptive? The website states no construction before 9am but what is the real story?

Can't tell you whether the construction is disruptive or not but we dined there on our trip in April and found the construction on the exterior to be quite extensive.

Lots of first and second floor courtyard view rooms (around the pool) have windows and balcony doors covered over with brown paper or cardboard from the pictures I've seen on a DVC member website. There were extensive pictures on the site that I saw, and from the looks of it, I would not want to stay there right now.

Anyone know off hand when the construction will conclude? Thinking about a trip next February and WL is one of the resorts we are considering.

Right now there is no date or time frame. Just "through 2017".
"Due to extensive refurbishment projects, Guests will very likely see and hear construction work in various areas throughout their stay. To minimize disruptions, we will attempt to limit work until after 9:00 a.m.
At this time, many popular areas will remained closed - including the Hidden Springs Pool (the leisure pool at The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge), beach, marina, playground and more. In addition, certain pathways, like our nature trail, will be unavailable, and surrounding views may be altered. However, the recently renovated Silver Creek Springs Pool will remain open and boat transportation to Magic Kingdom park will continue to be offered."
