Where would you dine if you had only one dinner at WDW (we are only there for a day and half) and want to see Wishes? We (includes two teens) want to spend the afternoon and evening in MK and see Wishes. Would you dine at one of the counter services? Krystal Palace? Take time from our one day and a half in WDW and head to monorail resort for dinner? What are your favorites? We are usually into gourmet dining, and I think we will want to sit down and relax, but since our time is limited I'm thinking we would want to dine in MK.

You might like the menu at skippers cantina. Sounds upscale. Or one of the gf or cr spots. Only takes a few minutes to get to either.

If you want to stay in MK to save time and haven't tried Be Our Guest and can get an ADR you could try that. Crystal Palace is a character buffet if you like that. If you just want casual but want TS The Plaza Restaurant is a great spot to sit and relax, sandwiches, salads and wonderful milkshakes.

Since you're doing this pre-cruise (where you'll have your gourmet dining) and have limited MK time I would probably pick The Plaza for both convenience and comfort.

I'd hop the Monorail to Narcoosees, Ohana or California Grill. I think Be Our Guest is good, but doesn't live up to the hype or difficulty getting in. My MK fave is Crystal Palace. Second would be Cinderella's Castle.

Unless you want to be in the park for Wishes, I'd go to California Grill - have a relaxing dinner there and view Wishes from that location.

I would suggest Grand Californian Cafe at the GF. What time of year are you visiting? If it is real busy you may not want to leave. If it is hot, you may want a break.

I suggest the Plaza. They have the best burger and fries of any Disney Property !! IMHO !! They are fast and easy, not taking away from the MK feel, plus you can get a nice Sundae too !!

Not to hijack the thread, but I fell compelled to interject... Beaches & Cream has the best burger on Disney Property.
My personal best meal at MK is dinner at BOG- plus you can have a beer or glass of wine.

Normally, I would go to a monorail resort for dinner, but with limited time... no. I would stay in the park and grab a counter service, so that you could plan your day around activities and attractions instead of having everything hinge on dining plans. But if you do get a lot of time at the park and you're feeling like an excursion, the food is far better at the nearby resorts than in the MK. Grand Floridian Cafe is a good one that usually has seating at short notice.

I agree that Beaches N Cream have good burgers...very good in fact, but IMHO the plaza burger n fries are better as you have the MK right at your window .,..... for me walking past Cape May to get to B&C kills my burger craving and creates within me a buffet want !!! hahaaa

If you want to stay in MK, then I would say Be Our Guest for sure. A quick monorail ride to Ohana isn't a bad idea either.

I would recommend Be Our Guest for a sit down meal. If you decide to do counter service, I would recommend Cosmic Ray's as they have a really good rotisserie chicken meal there that is not your typical burgers and fries.

My family tried BOG for the first time. It was ok, we weren't all that impressed. Their French onion soup is made with chicken broth versus traditional beef broth and 3/4 of us ordered the steak medium rare and they all came out very rare. I would prefer another restaurant like Kona Cafe at Polynesian which is very underrated. I got the famous Lapu Lapu, but without the alcohol and as a result was valid as my drink for the meal plan (what a steal!) and the pork chop there was so good! I would also recommend if you have time but wish to remain in the park to try Cinderella's Royal Table. It's also a good way to meet the princesses without waiting in those long lines. And if you are on a tight budget, have little time, and must stay in the park give Tony's a try. Not the best food, but it's decent and priced nicely. If you go there I highly recommend the pistachio creme brulee. Best of luck!
