We are going to be going from a day at AK to have dinner at the new Italian restaurant on the Boardwalk. Even though we are on property, we will still have a rental car. I can think of two options for getting there. Drive to DHS, park and take the boat to the Boardwalk or drive straight to the Boardwalk.
If we go straight to Boardwalk, can we park at the hotel (we have ADRs). We have no intention of going to any theme park, but may want to explore the Boardwalk and surrounding resorts a bit. Is there a time limit for parking, and is there a limit to how early you can park prior to your scheduled ADR time?
TIA
There is a parking lot specifically for Boardwalk visitors for shopping and dining. Just pull up to the security guard at the gate and tell him you are going to the Boardwalk for dinner. I think there is a posted 3 hour time limit but we have never worried about it. We have gotten there early and explored the resorts including the Swan and Dolphin, explored shops, walked all the way to Hollywood Studios just to take the scenery on the walk in and then ate. We have probably been there over 6 hours before. I have never heard of them towing someones car from that lot, there is so much to look at around there, you could spend all day if you wanted.
If you have the paper in your window indicating you are a resort guest, there is no problem parking at Boardwalk. Just tell the guard at the gate you have ADR's and you will be allowed in. I've never had a problem with a time limit. We stay at WL and have never had a problem going to other resorts when dining there.
Thanks. This is kind of what I thought. Last time I went there late on my own for some Daddy alone time at Big River Grill and a few pints on the sidewalk. I couldn't recall exactly where I parked, but I think it was in the lot mentioned.
Sounds like that is the plan.
