We are stopping by WDW on our way home from St. Augustine next week, and spending two days outside the parks. This will be our second stay at Fort Wilderness and we were thinking of picking up a pizza to share before heading to the campfire. Are the pizzas at Pioneer Hall about the same as the ones at the value resorts, or should we get one from the Boardwalk? We don't want to have to leave property, so we're looking for something at a resort. We also want something we can carry to the campfire easily (5 family members, but 3 are young kids, and we aren't taking a stroller). Thanks!

I have never tried the pizza at Fort Wilderness but I have had them at some of the moderate and deluxe resorts. I have found most of the quick serve pizzas on property are pretty similar with the exceptions of the resorts that offer flat bread and the ones that offer mini pizzas. I edited the thread name so hopefully we will get a few more people weighing on on Ft Wilderness specifically.

I think you'd be better off putting Catsup on an old pair of Nike's than hoping for good pizza at WDW. Everyone seems to like that place in Epson, but the rest of the world is no bueno.
Since you're looking for a pie to take along on your campfire outing I'm pretty sure your not expecting gourmet pizza. The FW pizza is probably on par with the other resorts and should just be fine for what you're looking to do. Personally I'd skip the pizza and go for the S'mores

I'd order delivery from outside WDW.

If you like real Chicago deep dish pizza Giordano's is 4 miles from FW BUT it takes almost an hour from when you order it for take out so you could Google and note the phone number and location.
This is a NYC Italian here. No edible pizza, or anything else Italian south of Jersey.

We ended up going with the take out chicken dinner instead. We had NY-style pizza twice in St. Augustine earlier in the week and decided we wanted something different.

Gee... Makes you wonder how those Italians who live all over the USA survive....

The best pizza available in the area around Disney is Flippers (very good) , Red Oven (very good) and Giordanos (good) in that order. None of these are in Disney.
As others have said, if you would be happy to settle for lesser on-property pizza then feel free to settle, as no matter how many New Yorkers may claim otherwise (And I have had plenty of pizza in both Italy and New York) pizza is edible regardless.
