What Disney restaurants take disney gift cards?

Wow - great question. And there doesn't appear to be a straight answer online... here is what I found on the official site:

Walt Disney World® Resort

Use at participating locations throughout Walt Disney World Theme Park, Downtown Disney®¹, Walt Disney World® Water Parks², and Walt Disney World® Resorts³. Use toward admission tickets, annual passes, hotel rooms, spa experiences, as well as merchandise, dining and recreation.
Use at Disney owned and operated locations where credit cards are currently accepted.
Some carts, and other outdoor merchandise vendors may not be able to accept the gift card.

Walt Disney World Theme Parks

The Disney Gift Card can be used to purchase Theme Park admission tickets and annual passes. It may also be used at Disney owned and operated merchandise, dining and recreation locations where credit cards are currently accepted. Some carts, and other outdoor Merchandise vendors may not be able to accept the gift card.

Downtown Disney®

The Disney Gift Card can be used to purchase admission tickets to DisneyQuest®. Tickets to Cirque du Soleil® La Nouba™ may be purchased using the Disney Gift Card at the Cirque du Soleil® Box Office located at Downtown Disney® West Side. The Disney Gift Card also offers a convenient option to shop and dine at participating locations throughout the Downtown Disney® Area.

Walt Disney World® Water Parks

The Disney Gift Card also has a special wearable version available for purchase exclusively in shops at Disney's Blizzard Beach and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Parks. This waterproof card comes with a handy wristband to wear, and is convenient to carry while enjoying the Water Parks attractions, merchandise and food and beverage purchases as well as locker and towel rentals.

Walt Disney World® Resorts

The Disney Gift Card offers a convenient option to shop, dine, stay and enjoy recreation experiences throughout the Walt Disney World® Resort. Present the Disney Gift Card at any of the Walt Disney World® Resort Hotels Front Desks as payment toward hotel room nights or accumulated purchases on your Key to the World Card. Looks like since you can use them towards accumulated purchases on your magic band - any place that takes a magic band/room charge would be safe... since you can apply them towards that. That means pretty much anywhere in the park...

I think John has the best idea of just using your giftcards to pay down your room charges.

Bah! That would be an excellent idea if we were staying on property but this is the first trip in many years that we aren't. I'll just go with a portion of our spending money to be safe. I also tried calling dining but no surprise there were no clear cut answers.

I was under the impression that Disney gift cards can be used everywhere within the parks. I've heard they are even accepted at the food carts for ice cream or beverages. :confused:

There are a few places that are not Disney owned within the parks and Disney Springs. You can use them at the food carts and such. But not every restaurant takes them (although the majority do).
