Some random thoughts about the stateroom: Deluxe Ocean View, deck 2

This is not new information for a seasoned cruiser but there may be info for someone awaiting their first cruise!

In great shape overall. Perfect size! Large enough to move around, small enough to feel like you have a cozy nest on the ship. LOTs of storage under bed and drawers and closet. Deck 2 is low enough not to feel too much of the motion during 2 nights of fairly rough waters. Had a hair dryer in a drawer that included a concentrator and diffuser. Wish I had known that. Dryers take up a lot of suitcase real estate.
Sheets were changed once during the week. Room serviced in am and again with turndown service at night. Plenty of fresh towels all the time. Nice H2O toiletries. Room hostess honored privacy sign in am until we were up and removed or changed it.
We brought a few battery powered tealights as nightlights. Threw them away as the batteries died. And nice ambiance too. There are only a few outlets but was not an issue - there is one behind the TV that one might not see. Good sized safe in closet. Held 2 IPads, papers, IPhones with plenty of room to spare.
Good lighting in both bathrooms. Sometimes there is not enough light to do make up in hotel rooms, but these were good!
I saw the fish extenders on several rooms. Looks like a fun thing to do! If we ever have children with us on a trip, we would do this!

Maybe I will do a topic on random thoughts about other parts of the ship -- but right now I should get back to work. It was fun to relive being in that room though!

This is an explanation that I found:
What is a fish extender ?
With such a unique name, there’s no surprise that most people don’t know what a fish extender even is! On the Disney Cruise Line, each of the staterooms has a small silver fish or seahorse to the right or left of the door. Usually, it’s used to hold invitations, receipts, and correspondence during your cruise, but those participating in a fish extender exchange hang a bag or special holder to the “fish” to serve as a mailbox. If you want to participate, you sign up, provide your information and stateroom number, and make little goodies for each person or each cabin.

How to get a fish extender.

While you can certainly just hang a bag from your fish or seahorse, many cruisers opt to make or buy a personalized holder. There are lots of options on Etsy – just search for Fish Extender. (I got mine from Ava Baby Co).

How to sign up for a fish extender exchange.

Google for fish extender groups, and sign up with your names and stateroom number. Depending on the size of the group, you may break up into smaller groups or just stick with one group.
