We will be attempting to book the Grand Californian using our DVC points on 11/21 for 6/21/16. What are our chances of getting a 1 bedroom? Thanks

Be on and ready to push book at 8AM and you have a chance. We got a 2 bedroom around that time frame 2 years ago. I booked at 8 and by 805 the rooms were gone. On hint that MS gave me is book it for 1 person and then call them an add the others. This saves time by not having to add the other names.

Would that be 8AM California time? Will be booking from here in New York. Also, does it matter if we do it online or by phone? Is one way more likely to be successful than the other? Thanks

It's 8am EASTERN.
Booking online starts at 8am Eastern time. Member Services does not open until 9am. So book on-line.

We had heard it was very hard to get into the Grand Californian so we were pleasantly surprised when we had no difficulty securing a reservation in a studio for several nights this past March. Good luck and I hope you are able to book what you want!! It's a lovely resort!!

We were not successful getting a reservation. We are on the wait list for studio and 1BR. We will be checking back in frequently. Don't really have a backup plan right now

Sorry to hear that. It is possible to delay your trip a couple days? The reason I ask is starting June 23rd next year AP blackout days begin which may help the availability. Good luck with the WL you have.

Cannot change our dates due to the start of summer camp. We were able to get a 1BR for June 23-25 and are on the waiting list for June 21-22. I guess with the AP blackout dates starting Jun 23rd that made those days easier. Just hope we can get off the waitlist for June 21-22
