We will be staying at the Grand Californian for 5 nights. On our third day we are going to do Universal and no DL that day. So my question is do I need a 4 day park hopper or a 5 day park hopper? We are spending 4 days at DL, but they are not consecutive which is why I am a bit unsure what to do. Thanks.

You would only need a 4 day, the ticket is good for 13 days from first use.

And a hopper is really worth it here since the parks are SOOO close together! We don't often get hoppers in Florida because of the wasted time traveling between the parks but it's a whole different story out there. You can get back and forth in 10 minutes.

Any specific recommendations for best prices on Disneyland tickets? I'll be in California for a few days and staying at a Good Neighbor hotel, but not in the parks the whole time (not sure yet how many ticket days I'm going to get). Are there any deals to be had thru AAA, travel agent, local discounter, etc?

The only discounts I know of are only available to Southern California residents.

Fair enough - thanks! I'll check AAA, just in case.
