We're taking the family for the kids first visit to Disneyland in October and trying to decide between a free stay at the Hyatt House (which includes free breakfast) or a Disney hotel. The dates we are looking at are Thursday Oct 29 - Mon Nov 2, so we'll be there over Halloween and a weekend, both busier times at Disneyland. So in your opinion is a Disney hotel with the daily extra hour in the park worth the added expense over just one magic morning?

While there's something special about staying at a Disney hotel, if cost is an issue then I'd go with a non disney one. Some of them are even closer than the disney hotels themselves. I've had very good luck staying at one of the hotels on Harbor - most have an included breakfast (some better than others).
