We are counting down the last few days till our very first Disneyland trip. I have a few last minute questions.
What should be our priority when entering the parks? Should we go straight to getting FP's for things like Fantasmic and World of Color? Also, it is my understanding that we will need FP in order to see the Aladdin show? Should we get these first thing in the am? Are these FP's (WoC, Aladdin, Fantasmic) tied into the FP system, or are we able to hold these and still get fast passes in the meantime?
Do we need FP for the fireworks and parades?
Is there anything I am missing as far as FP priorities for shows and nighttime entertainment?
I know that in California Adventure we should get Carsland done first. Any thing we should know about at Disneyland?
Any other tips to make our first visit as good as possible?
I know this was a lot of questions. Just trying to have a little game plan. Thanks so much for any help!

FP for WoC and Fantasmic are not tied to the system. Aladdin is, I think. I don't think FP is necessary for Aladdin. You can show up 20-30 ahead of any of the shows and get a good seat.
At DL, I recommend FP for Space Mountain first, then Indiana Jones. Ride Matterhorn between them. Peter Pan will always have a long line so just plan to wait in it. It usually has a 45 min wait within 5 minutes of park opening. Everything else will have reasonable wait times during the week.
At DCA, other than Cars Land, Soarin, Toy Story Mania, and Tower of Terror are the most popular attractions, so expect waits around 20-45 min at any given time of day. ToT and Soarin have FP, Toy Story does not.
Honestly, though, relax. Disneyland is much less hectic and more doable in a short period of time. You will get everything in. When do you arrive?

Thanks Natalie! Your input is always so helpful!
I read somewhere that Aladdin will be available by FP only until it ends???? I wonder if this info was accurate?
Should we gather FP's for nighttime shows before heading for Space Mountain and/or Carsland?
Soarin will be closed. At first I was a bit bummed, but now its just something I don't need to try and fit in. Lol.

Forgot to add, we arrive in Disneyland on the 3rd, after a few nights in LA.

Definitely do not prioritize show FP over carsland or Space Mountain. Tickets for those will available well into the afternoon.
It may be true about Aladdin FP. I have not tried to see it recently.

We went this summer, and we were pleasantly that Toy Story Mania never had the wait that it does in Disney World.
Oh, and the fast past kiosk for Radiator Springs, is in a weird spot, do not go into the Cars Land section, it is actually closer to A Bug's Life section (at least that was the case in July).

Yes, the FP for RSR is just outside the entrance to Bugs Land, as you approach Cars Land. I would recommend getting a FP very first thing, then wait Standby, IF you will be in the park for EMH or right at opening. Later, you can use the single rider line if you want to repeat ride. Single rider line averages a 15-30 min wait.
Also, it is good to know which attractions have single rider available.
Radiator Springs Racers
Toy Story Midway Mania
Goofy's Sky School
California Screamin'
Matterhorn
Indiana Jones
Splash Mountain
