We will be staying with friends (who are DVC Members) at the Boardwalk in November.
Our friends have made the reservation and all our names are on it.
They usually get their park tickets at the resort the day we arrive but I prefer to buy ours online through Undercover Tourist.
How will that work with the Magic Bands??? Are they connected through the reservation even though we do not have tickets?? Can we customize the bands ahead of time??? Or do we get them at the resort when we arrive??

When you receive your tickets enter them onto your MDE. You will be able to customize your bands and also make fastpass plus reservations. However, if your friends wait until arrival to purchase their tickets, they won't be able to make any FP+ ressies. They will receive the gray bands upon arrival.

You would link "their" hotel stay to your MDE account. Also link your tickets to your MDE account. You'll be able to get your magic bands customized, etc. You'll also be able to select fastpasses in advance.
They would still be eligible for linking their hotel stay to their MDE account and customize their bands if they choose.
If they don't get tickets, they won't be able to select fastpasses.
If you want to be able to select fastpasses for the whole group (well everyone who has tickets), you'll need to link your MDE accounts together. Good luck with that!
Just wanted to add the bands will be mailed to the DVC owner 30 days prior to your trip unless they reside outside of the US.
