If points are bought on the resale market, can they be used to stay at the regular non-DVC resorts? I like staying in the cabins, so wanted to find out if they could be used there occasionally?

Resale points cannot be used for the Disney Collection resorts unless you purchased your points prior to March 21, 2011.

The rules for using points did change a few years ago. However, if you are considering a vacation club purchase, you should also look at value for the points used. Using points at a non-vacation club resort may not be the best value for the use of your points.

I am also a fan of the cabins but have found the 1 and/or two bedroom villas offer plenty of privacy and we have never been bothered by noise in these accommodations.
