Disney Parks Blog announced the opening date for the Skyliner today. All lines will open on September 29th.

Looks like they're going to avoid the heat of the summer, pushing it off to late Sept when high temps and storms are less likely - 2 of the big concerns with these new cars. At some point, though, they'll have to figure out if these cars are actually going to work on a 95 degree/ 98% humidity Florida day!
Any hope for a soft opening? I'll be there the 14-20th, and maybe (fingers crossed) they'll be testing things out and need an ECV rider to do a run.

We got to see the cars moving around the line over the weekend - empty, of course. When the cars are on it and moving, it's amazing to see much distance the Skyliner is covering. I'm still not sure how much I like the look of it, as it kinda looks like electric power lines around the resorts and parks. But the cars are colorful, and I'm sure it will be well-used. I guess we'll see in a couple months!
Don't lose your spoon, else you spend your time in the skyliner "box." Don't forget to shake the bush or else.
