This was mentioned in the Disney After Dark thread, but deserves its own.
Check out google for details, but for another ridiculous amount of money (something like $70pp) you get into Fantasyland from 7:45 - 10 for access to Pan, Pooh, Mine Train, and continental breakfast at Pinocchios.
I wouldn't do this and bless those who want to - my biggest concern is that if this is the day you rope drop MK you are now hitting Fantasyland with a bunch of people already filling the queues.
What isn't for sale yet? Actually, I don't want to ask because I shudder to think.

Ha. We could go back to the days when you had to stick a quarter in the slot to open the stall! Well, with modern technology I suppose you'd just tap your magic band....

You took my line ... I was gonna say the TP is free so far !! I'm sure the free ice water will have a surcharge for the ice soon. Maybe we will have to rent the seats on the rides and at the shows ,,,, it's getting old fast !!

All your money are belong to us...
Again, like I have said elsewhere, so what? So what if they charge for this event or, for that matter, the evening event? As of right now, NOTHING is being taken away from the guest. All they did is add a hard ticketed event to their scheduled day. If you want to pay for it, do so. If the Cost/Benefit Analysis shows to you not to be worth it, then don't. It's rather easy. If somebody wants to pay to get in early or stay late, that's fine.

Why does Mickey wear white gloves? So he doesn't leave fingerprints when he steals your wallet.

We have seen you post this a few times. My response would be, be careful throwing around the "so what, if you don't like it don't go." At some point, as a few others have discovered in the past couple of weeks, at some point they will make a change that negatively impacts you and your vacation style. It may be an increase in pricing, something taken away or reduced or maybe even changes in DVC if you are a member. Right now, they are systematically going through everything and squeezing every single penny out of guests that they possibly can and it looks like they will continue to do so until they crash.
For a hypothetical example, what if they decided to make two days a week exclusive and Wednesday and Saturday were special hard ticket days for the entire day. They guaranteed that on those two days only so many people would be allowed in and your wait time would be 15 minutes or less or something to that effect. What if they set the ticket prices for those days at $500 each. I might decide to try it, love it and go visit on those days and do the other parks on the days in between. I might love every minute of it and end up spending $5000 or $6000 on tickets alone while at the same time, you bought a week long package but were blocked out of the parks on those two days unless you ponied up for the hard tickets. Soak that in for a minute because it is something they just may consider doing.
Yes, they may. But that isn't the discussion. What IS the discussion is the fee they are charging for this event. You can either pay it or not. They aren't stealing anything. You don't have to do it, vacation like you normally do and that's that. If somebody else, wants to spend the extra money to get in the park at 7 PM and be there until 2 AM, so be it. If they do start to whittle away at what they are offering and start to charge for everything, that is a different story, but NOWHERE in what they have proposed is ANYTHING been taken away from ANYBODY. Most of this seems to be a more a factor of "no fair!". Well, life isn't fair. You can't afford the hard ticket event or you just don't want to pay for this hard ticket event, then don't. Again, nothing is being taken away. You can still go to the park, get your FPs, and enjoy the day the best you can. And they are only squeezing money from you if you choose to pay it. Again, they aren't forcing anybody to pay for anything. You can still pay for your vacation and do it like you always do and never pay the extra charge for any hard ticket items.

Here is where you are incorrect. They are in fact taking something away from guests and putting something in place with a new fee. They are in fact impacting the way many of us visit the parks and the value we get out of them. Here is how: They are closing the park at 7:00PM for a special hard ticket whereas, normally they would be open until at least 10:00PM and if occupancy levels were high, they would also normally extend the park hours until 11 or 12. Now those park hours are gone unless you want to buy an additional ticket.
Before you point out that this is about an early morning special ticket, it is still the same thing. Earlier in the morning, later in the evening, it doesn't matter. Hours during the day are hours during the day that you could potentially be in the park and now they want to charge you for it on top of entrance tickets you already have to buy. That is a money grab.
So my point is, this not only affects my vacation but it also affects yours but you haven't realized it yet. Wait until you go and you find out parks are closing at 7 for a hard ticket and you just spent all day in a busy park with 90 minute wait times and then get back to us on your satisfaction level.
Do folks get this upset when other businesses (you know ... those places that are run intending to make money) raise their prices and change their offerings?
Disney is not HIDING these changes. They are right up-front about it.
So... you "pay to play" or you don't. If you don't like it.... don't go. Seems simple.
best,
.............john

Disneyland - 1972
I think it's really all about price point. If Disney were charging only $20.00 for this early morning access, I bet nobody would be complaining about it. I'm guessing Disney has done some market research to see what the market will pay for it. It's too much for me to consider it to be a good value. I think it's too high, but I guess we'll see how many of these admissions they'll sell.
They already priced us out of the Halloween Party which we used to attend every time we could, but when the price kept going up and up (when it crossed the $200.00 barrier for the four of us), we just chose not to attend it anymore, and it offered much more than just a breakfast with extra time in the park.
