well that doesn't sound good...im sure Off Kilter is getting some work elsewhere
DVC owner at AKL, OKW & BRV. stayed at every WDW resort except GF & YC. also went to Aulani & Disneyland. top of bucket list Tokyo DL next year, maybe Paris and Hong Kong
I really hate to write this, but we were at Epcot on Monday of this week and the ONLY place where we even saw a crowd of people was at the Lumberjack Show. All the seats were taken and a standing crowd surrounded them. People were whooping and clapping and laughing. I don't get it. Then the chainsaws started. Luckily they were not on very long.
I honestly was shocked at how many people were watching. Might not bode well for people who are hoping it makes a quick exit. :(

I think those cheering people were paid cast members. :thedolls:
On a somewhat positive side, I've seen the flag show at Italy now as well. It's done in the traditional Renaissance style of flags. While it didn't blow me away it was enjoyable and more fitting of the culture than the chainsaw nightmare now at Canada.

No replacement act...
You're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway.

Well, that would explain it. I was really quite baffled. There were more people watching that show than in line for all the F&W booths combined. Seriously.

One my Epcot CM friends sent me a video of the soft opening of B’net Al Houwariyate, which is the replacement of Mo'Rockin at Morocco. It's definitely the mostly cultural of the events so far. Quite enjoyable. Gives a great taste of Moroccan culture and folk music. It'll be pretty foreign for a lot of American audiences, but if you're looking for a cultural experience I think they did well with this one. So far - Canada - travesty. Bring back Off Kilter immediately. Italy - not bad. Not awesome, but not bad. Morocco - finally got one right. Good cultural experience.

Very disappointed to hear Mo Rockin is gone. There are 3 music events we would stop regularly for at EPCOT - Voices of Liberty, Mo Rockin, and Off Kilter. I'll wait to see the replacements, but it's going to have to be pretty good to grab our interest. At least I have my Mo Rockin CD to enjoy!

I also think the the new Moroccan band and the Sbandieratori are good ambassadors of parts of their countries culture. The band is quite lively and brings a good energy. I found the comments about why are they wearing Kimonos funny tho. The Sbandieratori are good but I still feel the confined space takes away from their performance. I have seen similar groups live and they did plenty of long distance tricks that just can't be done in the pavilion.
Really going to miss Mo'rockin they were one of my favorites but I am looking forward to seeing some new acts in the world showcase!

As long as the changes come with new replacement additions that are of equal or better quality then I dont see it as a bad idea, especially considering that alot of areas of Epcot are in dire need of updating/facelifting.
One of the habits that Disney has that I have noticed over the years is that they very seldom update attractions in dire NEED of updating, a perfect example of this is Ellens Energy Adventure, while this is one of my personal favorites in Future World, I also believe that it is need of a facelift, it would be as simple as updating the film and maybe replacing carpets here and there, it really would not require rocket science which is why I dont understand the lack of attention.
