Epcot Makeover Rumours, An Overview...

Since we expect Disney to give full details of the Epcot makeover (mostly the make over of Future World), I figure now would be a good time to detail what is known so far and what is rumored, so we all have a little better understanding of what may be coming... Let's start with the entrance... We all saw the concept art... Leave is Legacy is gone... and the monolith should be coming back... Otherwise, the pathways are widened, and more trees and flower beds are added... Should really spruce up the look of the entrance... Now, let's tackle the inside of the park... Standing in front of Spaceship Earth, facing the Lagoon: The employee lounge and Project Tomorrow building coming from the exit of Spaceship Earth is rumored to be going away... Demolished... Turned into rubble... The current queue will be moved toward where the current exit is, with entering the vehicles moving too... This is supposed to be part of the 2 year refurb of the attraction... No word if the ride will be tied to IP or stay original... Still facing the lagoon, to the right is Innoventions West... Those buildings are going to be torn down... Starbucks, Club Cool, Art of Disney, all gone... Living Seas stays... In front of Living Seas will be a Moana water feature... Not sure if a fountain or not, but it should be themed to Moana... A pathway though or by the water feature will lead right to Seas, and will be where the current Art of Disney store is... Between Living Seas and The Land, right behind the current Innoventions building will be a meet and greet... and the new Starbucks going next to the meet and greet... In front of these two new areas/buildings, where the current entrance is, will be the new entrance to Epcot West... Or at least one of, and should be covered... Continuing further, right before we reach Imagination, a festival center will be constructed, replacing the rest of the old Innovention building... And behind the center will be Imagination... Moving over to Epcot East... Electric Umbrella should remain standing but remodeled into a new quick service dining area... Mousegear is also closing to be remodeled... Unsure if the walkway into Epcot East will remain or be demolished and reconstructed... Of course, in Epcot East we have Guardians replacing Ellen's Energy Adventure at Universe of Energy... Wonders of Life is being replaced with an IP driven play pavilion, no word on all the IPs yet, or the official name of the pavilion... Mission Space will stay and receive a space themed restaurant attached to the building... The space restaurant does not have an official name yet and is in the middle of being built, and should be opened later this year... The restaurant will not have any windows, instead the dining area will be circled by a large screen showing scenes of outer space... The spine of Future World is getting completely remade... Say bye to Fountains of Nations and hello to a beer garden??? That's the current rumor, though several people say there is no way a beer garden is coming... We'll see... In front of Spaceship Earth, where the large building used to be, well, it will just be garden area... adding to the greening of Epcot's Future World... Well, that's it for now... Next we'll tackle World Showcase... Oh, one more for the rumor mill.... Future World getting a name change to.... Um, Epcot Center... But take that one with a grain of salt... I doubt this rumor is true...

Part 2:

Staying in what used to be Future World… Notice on the concept art where Fountain of Nations used to be… There appears to be a building there with a garden roof top… That should be the new festival center… The top with the garden is rumored to be a rooftop wine bar… The area under the garden with the glass windows looks to be a lounge, maybe for special events??? Or a staging area during festivals??? And on the first floor, looks like a pathway??? Can’t really tell… We’ll have to wait for specifics during the announcement on Sunday… Honestly, I thought the festival center was closer to Imagination but I don’t see that building on the concept art… I may be missing it…

I did fail to mention… Innoventions West area, there will be a new meet and greet building… No word on what characters will be meeting there…

The Odyssey will become a preview center… Displays and concept art will be included in the preview center giving guests a view of all the changes…
Now, on to World Showcase…

The Mexico pavilion: There is a belief Coco is coming… Now, this Coco rumor has been around for a while… The original rumor was Coco was to replace Gran Fiesta Tour… That idea was scrapped a while back… But could it have been dusted off??? Maybe… Right now the Mariachi band has the puppet show… and there are a few Coco displays in the lobby… But that’s it for Coco… Are we getting more?? No idea… Basing off the new posters coming out, The Three Caballeros are featured on one poster and Coco on another… I think there may be a possibility Coco is added into a scene, maybe the Day of the Dead celebration portion, but I don’t think Coco is taking over the entire ride…

China is getting a new movie… France is getting Ratatouille… Canada getting a new movie… United Kingdom is getting, or at least should be getting a Mary Poppins Carousel AND possibly something else themed to either Winnie the Poor or Alice in Wonderland, or both… I’m thinking Alice since the White Rabbit appears on the new UK poster…

Disney has previously announced many closings come September 8^th… However, they are using October 1, 2019 as the official beginning of Epcot’s, I mean EPCOT’s transformation…

That pretty much wraps up what is visible on the floor at the moment, confirming many of the rumors … There are also two additional posters with black covering over them with a sign WILL BE REVEALED SUNDAY… So, speculation is running wild what these two posters refer to…

I believe Brazil will be announced… I really truly feel we are finally getting a new country… The rumored location: Between Italy and Germany…

The second poster could be the Mary Poppins Carousel poster… Maybe it has something to do with Imagination… Maybe it is something not on the rumor radar… I cannot wait til Sunday!!!
