Good news far as I'm concerned, as long as the original cast returns and the story/music is as good as the original.

Has this ever happened in a sequel (excluding Pixar)? I am honestly wondering. I can't think of a sequel from Disney Animation that was even somewhat memorable.

Other than Pixar, what "real" sequels had disney released into theaters.

I honestly don't really count all those extra lion kings, aladdins, mermaids, etc because they were all direct to video. Those types of movies obviously lack effort.

As far as music and story goes for the sequel, I bet they'll be fine as long as the Lopez's are back.

Mr. is an EGOT winner and has numerous hits. He writes new music all the time and it's not like his new stuff is getting worse than his older stuff.

I think the problem with those cheap sequels that we hated was the music. Take Mermaid and Aladdin for example. Alan Menken was the composer for the originals. A Disney Legend. He didn't returm for the sequels.

I think, as long as the Lopez's return, we are fine.

As to John's point about Big Hero 6... It was awesome! One thing that these movies make clear is that it is the music, not the movie itself, that is driving Frozen.

Well since Lasseter is on board, I would say the Pixar examples would be the analogous ones not the cheapquels of the 90's.

I'm expecting a TS2 quality or better on this. They know where the bar is set.

Wasn't Lasseter on board Cars 2 also though?

I'm 47 year old man and I think it is a great movie. I really don't see what all the fuss is about with people who are Disney fans saying that they don't like it. It is certainly better than many Disney animated films if not quite equal to the best. I think it is really great than another generation is finding relevance in a Disney film and proves the longevity of the company. I find that exciting.

I was young when Lion King was out, and it was this big. We had the CD we played over and over and over. We walked all around the neighborhood singing the songs. The sequel was cheaply done but because I loved lion king so much I love it too. Even Lion King 1 1/2. Now years later, I still love watching all three with my kids. My kids love Frozen this much, so a sequel for them is a great idea.

There haven't been many animated features that had a strong second- Toy Story, Planes (we loved fire and rescue- don't judge) and Dreamworks Shrek. But Cars 2 was terrible. There have been several enjoyable but not spectacular sequels- Madagascar, Despicable me 2,

I do not believe that Frozen 2 will be an extroadinary movie, but if they put in an effort with the music then we will probably love it too. lol

.....having an original cast to participate in a sequel ....sometimes works ...and sometimes it doesn't.

.....we know ...that with the available technology ...that the animation can be just as good ...and maybe better ...because tech advances seem to occur on an almost daily basis.

....but ...unless they can unleash some kind of signature song to be an unforgettable soundtrack to the movie ....it may crash and burn.

.....catching lightening in a bottle is tough enough ....doing it twice ...in a row ....is very likely impossible.

....that said ....ENOUGH ALREADY with the constant parade of Frozen this ....and Frozen that. Get creative ...get original ...and come up with a completely different movie. I mean ...I like hot dogs ....but if you have them at every meal ...every day ...you'll get tired of them pretty fast ...if they don't kill you first.

twice in a row? The Lopez's have caught lightening in a bottle numerous times! Avenue Q, Book of Mormon, Nemo the Musical, Frozen..

Writing another musical with hit songs won't be an issue for that duo! I'm not saying they'll create another "Let it Go", but a good score with catchy melodies won't be a problem. They are geniuses.

By the way, if they aren't involved, my optimism goes away.

He's an EGOT, right? Amazing!

You know, for me, I pretty much think Idina Menzel can do no wrong, and I have faith they'll create songs worthy of her talent, and for the entire massively talented cast (if they all return.)

While I do think their is too much Frozen in the parks, I am a fan of the first film. I love great music and songs and you combine it with great animation and is fantastic.

I actually watched Frozen pretty late after it came out. I remember watching the Let It Go sequence on video before I ever saw the movie. I think I watched it probably 10 times from one of Disney's clip posts YouTube. The animation sequence was so well done, and just fit the song perfectly. That scene alone makes me look forward to how it will be translated to stage on Broadway one day.

I'm hoping they will do as good of job with the sequel. I'm a fan of the old 60s live action musicals, and wished they still made movies like that. Any musical done well, live or animated I usually enjoy.

I have gotten away from watching many of Disney's animated movies for the simple fact that I don't have a "little one" in the house anymore. However, at the urging of one of my co-workers, she coerced her young daughter into lending me the movie for a night.

Needless to say, I ended up really enjoying the movie, and asked for/received it for Christmas. I had not really been exposed to the music before watching it, so I had no preconceived notion of the overexposure it had received prior to me watching it except for the retail offerings and comments here on INTERCOT.

If a movie can make me cry, then . I welcome a well-done sequel to see what's next in their story!

Of course they're doing a sequel! It was a huge hit! This can't be a surprise. They're not going to lose out because a few adults are grumpy about it or sick of it, not when there are a huge number of children and families who will want to see it.

I'll be looking forward to it!!

I loved the movie, and while I'm not a fan of the merch out there (I've only purchased an Elsa coffee mug and a dancing/singing Olaf), I still love the story, music and characters.

Still, I'll have to see what kind of artwork they'll have on our next WDW trip... wasn't thrilled with their offerings last October, but we'll see....
