The Frozen Games Event has kicked off at Disney's Blizzard Beach.

Additional details were announced earlier this month:

Disney Parks & Resorts wrote: ... May 27 and running through Aug. 21, our “Frozen” friends will invite guests visiting Blizzard Beach to join Team Kristoff or Team Olaf each day to participate in a variety of winter-themed activities including:

  • Ice Pail Relays where teams line up and pass pails of water to one another, trying to be the first to fill a container at the end.
  • A “Snowball” Toss where pairs compete in a snow-themed water balloon toss.
  • Ski Pole Limbo, a snowy twist on traditional limbo—using a ski pole as the limbo bar!
  • Slide Races that allow teams to race down one of the signature water slides at Blizzard Beach.

Olaf and Kristoff will be on hand, appearing on the Observation Deck near Summit Plummet to take part in the opening and closing ceremonies, and giving updates on their teams’ progress throughout the day.

The “Frozen” Games will be an all-day event that guests can sign up for when they arrive at the park entrance. All activities are included with regular admission to Blizzard Beach.

Disney Parks & Resorts have announced a new Summer event for Disney's Blizzard Beach water park:

Attention “Frozen” fans: Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will play host to the inaugural Frozen Games this summer.

The Winter Games Committee has taken advantage of the freak snowstorm over Central Florida and will host an impromptu sporting event known as The Frozen Games. They’ve even invited Kristoff and Olaf to lead teams of guests in a day full of fun “Frozen” activities, before the warm sun melts the snow away.

Guests visiting the waterpark can to join “Team Kristoff” or “Team Olaf” and participate in a variety of activities, including Ice Pail Relays, a Snowball Toss to Ski Pole Limbo and Slide Races.

Olaf and Kristoff will join the Winter Games Committee members in the games’ Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and will give updates throughout the games to report on their team’s achievements.

Exact operational dates for this new offering have yet to be announced.

Well, Universal doesn't have Blizzard Beach. We are going for three days ONLY to visit water parks, and spending the rest of the week visiting family.

.....hope you have a good time.

.....personally ...we avoid water parks. I can't see me dealing with crowds in order to go in a pool. That's what my resort pool ...with a bar close by ...is for.:marg::beer:

It's the kids who want to go. And honestly, we did this same thing a few years ago and the water parks were practically empty during the morning hours. Very enjoyable. And, there are PLENTY of bars at the water parks too. ;)
