In case you missed them on INTERCOT's live social media posts from yesterday's press event, more details were released for Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway.
Ride Vehicle "Engine":
New Concept Art:
Latest Attraction Description:
Disney Parks & Resorts wrote: The fun begins when you see the premiere of a new cartoon short with Mickey and Minnie preparing for a picnic. As they head out, they drive alongside a train and find out that the engineer is Goofy. Then, one magical moment lets you step into the movie and on Goofy’s train for a wacky, wild ride.
The teams helping create the attraction are currently working with partners at Disney Television Animation to keep the characters and storyline authentic – and allow guests to join Mickey and his friends like never before.

It is what is going into the Chinese Theater, replacing The Great Movie Ride. Scheduled to open sometime next year.

I don't know, I am just not jumping up and down with joy for this. I don't like the new look of the characters. I don't know if it will have repeatability. I guess I may just be old school. I probably won't be able to give it a chance anyway as our passes expire this year and we won't be able to get more any time soon.

I like the idea of a Mickey attraction, its about time, other than Mickey's Philharmagic there isn't any attraction other than stage shows even closely related to the Mouse that started it all. ( even Philharmagic is dominated by Donald with only a brief cameo by Mickey ! ) BUT, I am definitely NOT a fan of the "new, current" fab 5 designs. Very Ren & Stimpy like. We now have two versions of each character, old school and new.
I also was very excited for this until I saw the look of the characters - to say the least I hate the look of these characters. Talk about confusing for the little ones...please pick a look for Mickey and stick with it.

You do know this isn't Mickey's second look, right? He's had a few.
Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're NOT out to get you!

No, the ride has been announced to feature a new technology/effect that can give the perception of additional depth without 3-D glasses--dubbed 2.5 D

Awesome! It would be great to ditch the glasses!

No, I don't believe you will need 3D glasses...
You're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway.

I already refuse to go on this ride. For one, I'm still heartbroken that it took out GMR. For another...I HATE this animation style
