The forthcoming raft ride at Typhoon Lagoon has been renamed prior to opening:

Additionally, the opening window has been narrowed to March 2017.

The new raft ride has been publicly announced with a Spring 2017 opening date:

Miss Fortune Falls will be a family-style raft attraction that takes guests on a splashing journey through the fabled Captain Mary Oceaneer’s past. Legend has it that Captain Oceanear, a treasure-hunting heroine, traveled across the sea collecting unique artifacts before she became stranded at Typhoon Lagoon many years ago by a rogue storm.

Aboard treasure rafts, guests will ascend to the top of the attraction before plunging into a white-water adventure where they will be able to spot some of the treasures Captain Oceanear gathered from around the world.

With a ride time of two minutes, Miss Fortune Falls will be among the lengthiest attractions at both Disney Water Parks.

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has filed Application #:160608-3 / Permit#:48-00714-P with the South Florida Water Management District regarding construction for a new Family Raft Ride at Typhoon Lagoon.

The description of the construction is as follows:

2.0 Project Site Description
The 2.28 acre site is located in a predominantly undeveloped area on the north side of the
Typhoon Lagoon park of Walt Disney World. A small roadway utilized only by maintenance
personnel traverses the south end of the site.

3.0 Proposed Project
The project includes construction of new guest areas including a water feature. Sidewalks and
landscaped areas will be provided for guest access.

The following diagrams indicate the project area, a blue line has been overlaid the locations of the foundation pylons/supports to indicate an approximate path of the planned water flume:

Wonder if you can ride as a solo? All the other raft style rides are two or more riders. This is why I haven't been going to the water parks.

Probably not. They even pair up groups of 2 and 3 together for these large raft rides. The rafts need to be balanced.

You cam still go to the water park solo...they will pair you up at the loading area. It's no different than riding as a single rider at the theme parks.
