I'm hoping that this is just a false rumor but, I just read that Gary Sinise has been replaced by Gina Torres on the re-imagined Mission Space opening on Aug. 13th? Don't get me wrong...I'm a huge Firefly fan and I love Gina Torres...but...Mission Space will NOT be the same without Lt. Dan! :(

Nice work, pal.

It appears he is gone...

I'd rather have a Firefly ride. Space cowboys, what could be better?

Somehow I missed that this was even happening. What this really needs is the ability to have more than the same adventure each time you go, like Star Tours.

Hmmmm...yes, a Firefly ride would be very cool. Now I'm going to spend the rest of my day with Steve Miller's line from "The Joker" running through my head. "Some people call me a space cowboy..."

Nice work, pal.

Agreed...new adventures each time are needed. I still want Gary to take me on them, though.

Nice work, pal.

That's bonus points for that reference.

Season 1 (maybe 2) of Castle and Castle is going to throw his annual Halloween party. He is trying out outfits in front of his daughter to get her opinion. He jumps out in his latest outfit and shouts "Space Cowboy!" to which Alexis says "Dad that is so 5 years ago" or something like that. Firefly definitely deserved a longer run.

Has Disney ever done that before, change narrators on an established ride? I'm trying to imagine queueing up for Soarin and not seeing good old Putty giving us our preflight instructions.

There have been a few over the years for Spaceship Earth.

It's not uncommon. Spaceship Earth has had 4 different narrators. The monorail spiel has had a number of different narrators as well. It's pretty normal to redo pre show narration whenever an attraction has a significant change to the storyline.

Do I get extra bonus points for using "pompatus" in a sentence?

Nice work, pal.

But...I'm so, so sad that it happened to this ride.

Or The Steve Miller Band's "Space Cowboy" -- "I'm a space cowboy...Bet you weren't ready for that..."
