Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a Notice of Commencement with the county to construct a new building at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Document #20150152631 describes a project titled "DHS Flex Space" to be located at 854 Sunset Blvd Bay Lake, FL 32830.

Cast have reported that this location is currently a backstage area between the Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. This area has previously been used for pop-up retail locations for special events.

Leaked plans of the project reportedly indicate that a multi-use, 3-story theater will be built on the location.

This is quite interesting, the expansion area makes sense considering that this is essentially the only remaining quadrant of DHS that still has some forested vacant land, even though there is a power station there which may pose some challenges in the long-run for any future expansion explorations..

They are going to need it when Premiere Theater goes bye bye... Makes sense to make it a flex theater... They could also toss the cheerleader competitions into there once they decide to shelve the Indiana Jones stunt show...

Maybe they are bringing Aladdin stage show over from DCA. Or, hosting a new Broadway style production?
