So call this a rumor for now cause nothing is directly pointing toward this but, if Muppets are removed from DHS (and it is looking likely unless Disney announces Monsters is going elsewhere), they may find a new home. The Hall of Presidents will be closing after November. Usually this closure would be to install the animatronic of the new President. However, Disney may take that opportunity to move on and give Liberty Square over to the Muppets, and create a new attraction Muppets American History.

This is just a rumor, so with all rumors take this with a grain of salt. But several trust worthy people have posted this today, and they have been very credible in the past. So, let's see. Personally, with the divisiveness of American politics today, and adults proving they can't behave by booing freaking robots, it may be time to move on. With that said, I may actually be OK with this. Hosted by Sam Eagle I would imagine. I see it no other way.

I am as nostalgic as ever about US history and the history of the presidency, but even I have to admit that Disney is in an impossible position with this attraction.  The need for two uniformed guards at the last showing I viewed at HOP made me wonder if the current concept needed scrapped.  I also think it is an error to have modern presidents say a single word during the show. I wish they would get away from recent presidents doing anything other than standing during the roll call.

Done right, I think Muppets taking over HOP would be and could be a good thing. Bring back the show in Liberty Square, and you have a hit. Sadly, adults don't know how to act, so maybe it is time to retire the presidents.

As for the presidents talking, I thought Biden only gave the oath of office. I can't remember if Trump gave a speech or if his too was just the oath of office. I think I remember Obama giving a speech. But I am ok with no president talking, other than Washington and Lincoln.

To me, HOP is a once every 4 to 8 year visit. I usually just visit to see the new president AA and then don't visit it while the current president is still in office. Bring in the muppets, and I'll see it every trip.

While I would hate to see HOP go the way of TSI, a Muppet history attraction could work for me. I never thought it was a good idea to give voice to a modern President (I think Bill Clinton was the first). It only eggs on boorish behavior from folks who don’t know how to behave in the first place.

This could make the best of a couple of bad situations. I REALLY hope we don't lose the Muppets from DHS, but since that is a possibility, a new home in Liberty Square could be a super change. It could be a very fun and adorable show. And, it solves the issue of the deep polarization taking place right now, Disney could improve a couple of things with one change.

I'll be the one who thinks we shouldn't destroy the HOP because a few people don't know how to respect the office of the president.  I'd rather a separate attraction be created that leverages the Muppets who are severely underutilized by the Walt Disney Company right now... both in content and parks.

In my opinion, the solution to the situation with people not being able to act right in the Hall of Presidents is to delay adding the latest president. Instead of adding them so soon, be a president or so behind. If they had not added Donald Trump yet and waited until after the next president comes along and then add him, enough time would have passed it wouldn't be so disruptive. Then after the election in 2028, then add Joe Biden. At that point, if people still act like immature idiots yelling and booing animitronics, escort them to the exit of the park. We should not keep pandering to the idiots because once they get their way with one thing, they move on to another anyway.

Actually, a good suggestion.  And totally agree - if you can't act civil regardless of the attraction - you should be booted from the park

Oh gosh, I would hate to lose HoP. I know this probably sounds crazy because I'm Canadian but as I kid in the 80's I used to tell my parents that Hall of Presidents was my favorite attraction.  I LOVED all of the animatronics, and how they sway back and forth so lifelike, whispering to the guy standing next to them.  It was just so COOL.  I also am pretty good at reciting all your American Presidents as a result!  (Try doing that with Canadian Prime Ministers LOL).

Anyway, my point is, I love the Muppets.  And thankfully it doesn't sound like we'll be losing them to Monstropolis anytime soon.  But I don't want the Muppets to take over HoP.  I like it the way it is.

Understandably it can be controversial: you might not like a few of the names announced up there and wanna roll your eyes when they are roll-called. But there's gotta be some kind of compromise.  Maybe don't have the current president speak or stand up front & centre? Maybe let George Washington say a longer speech (the way Abraham Lincoln does).  Maybe let some of the other "old timer" non-controversial guys say a few words.  Keep it more "general history" as opposed to "current happenings".

Would that help?

I actually enjoy HoP and the artifacts in the lobby.  There is that CM who adds seldom known stories there too.

It is not a glass is half empty view of the U. S. which should be encouraged.  If it needs keeping the current president or two quiet that's a fair adjustment.
