It had been reported a while back that Flying Fish would be closing for renovation on February 1. It appears now that Seaside Sweets will also close that day. It is being rumored that space will become a shared bar/lounge for Flying Fish and Trattoria al Forno.
It is also rumored that the space occupied by the ESPN shop may become the new home for Seaside Sweets.
Again, much of this is rumored so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Resort Cast have confirmed that the The Yard Arcade & Store closed on January 6th and that Seashore Sweets is planned to close on February 1, 2016.
As noted above, the reasons for the closures have not been announced and are only rumoured at this time.

We have a reservation at the BWV at the end of May, and we received a letter in the mail yesterday from the General Manager of the BWI/BWV. It stated that during our stay we will see/hear work in progress as they renovate the Villas. CM will be doing routine exterior painting and balcony maintenance throughout the resort.
They mention several venues at the Disney Boardwalk being reimagined and will reopen later in the year. Flying Fish Café reopening later this year with a renovated dining room and kitchen. Seashore Sweets, Yard Arcade and the retail shop at ESPN have closed to make way for new experiences.
They also say that there is possibility of loud noises at times and they apologize for any inconveniences and appreciate our understanding, etc.
This is our first DVC reservation, as we just became members officially in December 2015. This is our home resort and we are hoping it won't be too much of a disappointment.
