When I first heard about this, I was thinking it would be similar to the Toy Story Land they added to Hong Kong Disneyland. From what it seems, I don't know if it will have as many attractions as the Hong Kong version.

I'm so glad they're making these changes! After all I've heard about Radiator Springs, I have to admit that I'm disappointed we won't be getting something similar. But, I fully agree that what DHS has been missing are rides for a wider age range.

We saw Stitch and a couple of characters near Min and Bill’s. Mickey and Baymax had long lines in the animation building. And the Disney Jr characters were outside. That's all.

This just doesn't sound that great by comparison. WDW is huge and takes a full vacation. We did not feel the same about Disneyland and probably will never go there again unless we are in the area for another reason.
Don't give up hope DNS! This is just the first wave. Pixar Place and Cars Land are on the board to be built at DHS (or whatever you want to call it).

The Toy Story Land in Hong Kong Disneyland is super cute, so I'm certain this one will be too. I was hoping that they would bring at least 1 of the HK rides over to WDW, but it doesn't look that way. My husband and I like the Toy Solider Parachute Drop. Even though it is a simple ride, it was themed really well, and you get a good view of the park from the top. :mickey: The RC Racer is fun too, (and doesn't take up a lot of space), but it is a little too thrilling for my husband, haha.
Not sure if it's because my kids are grown or not but this isn't really getting me as worked up as I thought. On the other hand there was nothing much there before so anything is better than nothing; and grand kids are in the future.
First trip 1986 ...
Not enough since then!
We stayed at the Toy Story buildings in All-Star Movies resort many years ago when my two oldest children were tots. They loved it, and my now-16yo still talks about it. So I'm sure when this is finished, they'll all love the new area. And geeking out about the Star Wars land in my family is a given.
I have to admit, though, that I am disappointed with Toy Story Land. I had hoped that there would be much more of a tribute and attractions dedicated to more of the Pixar movies. (I will never stop hoping for a "door" ride a la Monsters Inc. :D)
Also, after seeing the Indiana Jones Adventure and Radiator Springs Racers in Disneyland, I had also hoped for at least some version of one of those to appear at WDW. In my opinion, these are two of the best rides in ANY of the U.S. parks. But I understand why you don't want to duplicate everything on both coasts.
I'm sure everything will look fantastic when it's finally done. But I'm still crossing my fingers, like others, that this isn't the last of the announcements for DHS.

If the theming is done well (and doing theming well is one of Disney's biggest strengths) then both lands could be big hits. Both have a lot of potential to be fully immersive experiences.
Slinky Dog rollercoaster looks very cute. :mickey:
