The Magic Kingdom park has announced that the multi-month refurbishment for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been delayed till later in the year:

In an effort to better your Old West experience, the sun will set on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad as it closes for refurbishment on April 4, 2016, with a planned re-opening currently scheduled for July 2016.
Magic Kingdom Cast have additionally reported that July 16th is the tentative re-opening date despite the lack of detail in the Public Announcement.
