Local Florida Media has picked-up on an unusually specific patent for a new ride system:
Orlando Business Journal wrote:
... a new patent the theme park giant filed called Track-based Swing Ride with Long Arm Pendulum that was published on Oct. 5. The ride appears to combine a swinging pendulum ride mechanism attached to a moving track system that can take the riders through an environment. Here's how the patent describes the ride:
"One goal in designing the ride system was to deliver an experience similar to what it would feel like to be with Tarzan or a similar character swinging between trees of a jungle on a vine or with Spider-Man or a similar character swinging on webs between buildings as you move down streets of a city.
intended to have swinging sensation provided while also having forward travel along a ride path in a direction of travel and for the swinging sensation to feel thrilling and fun." The patent states the movement of the swings also could be controlled where the arm could be slower at the top of a roll to simulate a pause before swinging downward quickly, speeding up as it reaches the bottom-most part of the swing to simulate natural movements ...
This ride system is being heavily rumoured to be for the announced Marvel Land at Disney California Adventure with a Spider-Man Theme.

You're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway.

:( I feel badly for those who get motion sickness. My stepdad and future daughter-in-law suffer from it. Glad you can enjoy other things though.
